1. Namık Çağatay (ITU) visit to IFREMER for 1 week during February 2010:He will  work with Louis Geli and Yves Auffret on seafloor observatory design for the Sea of Marmara node. This is an important task within WP5 “Comparative feasibility study for different types of observatories” of the ESONET Marmara-DM project.
2. Umut Barış Ulgen (ITU) will visit IFREMER for 2 week during February 2010: He will work with Lousi Geli on EK60 Echo Sounder and seismic reflection data. This will be carried out mainly in the form of training, especially concerning the Echo Sounder work for monitoring for gas bubbles in the water column. Turkey presently lacks such specialized personnel. This training will therefore be important for future of permanent seafloor observations on active faults in the Sea of Marmara, and will contribute to the efforts in running seafloor observatories in the country.
3. Dursun Acar (ITU) will visit IFREMER for 2 week during February 2010: He will be trained on piezometer, sediment trap, sediment coring. This training is important for the future of permanent observatories in the Sea of Marmara and will contribute to training of personnel who is presently lacking in Turkey.
4. M Sinan Ozeren (ITU)will visit to IFREMER for 2 week during September 2010: He will work with Louis Géli and Nabil Sultan. Özeren is a specialist in mathematical tsunami modelling and works on  landslide triggered tsunamis in particular. With Géli and Sultan, he will continue to examine the YOYO and longterm piezometric data obtained in MARNAUT and will also discuss with them the optimal use of piezometers in slope stability problems in the Sea of Marmara. Ozeren will also discuss future strategies of the piezometer deployments in the Sea of Marmara. Gas hydrate effects on the slope stability will also be examined under the light of data obtained thus far. This is an important task of the ESONET Marmara-DM project
